DreamScape: Noise Map

This is the DreamScape Noise map dialog. You can use this Noise map wherever you find it suitable. Most of the noise types here are built for terrain generation purposes.

Noise Type - The Noise map supports Regular, Fractal, Turbulence, fbmFractal, fbmTurbulence, Hetero Terrain and Hybrid Multifractal noise types.

Regular, Fractal and Turbulence noise types have Blur, Detail and Offset options disabled.

When the fbmFractal or fbmTurbulence noise types are used, the Offset option is disabled.

Parameters

Size - This option determines the Noise map size.

Levels - The higher the level parameter is, the more processing time will be needed to calculate the noise. Usually, you don't need to use extremely high values, as there will be no visible difference in final renderings.

Blur - This option determines how this noise map will be blurred. This option is available only for fbmFractal, fbmTurbulence, Hetero Terrain and Hybrid Multifractal noise types.

Detail - The Detail parameter should be used to add subtle detail to the noise.

This option is available for fbmFractal, fbmTurbulence, Hetero Terrain and Hybrid Multifractal noise types.

Offset - This option is enabled only with Hetero Terrain and Hybrid Multifractal noise types. It will make the final noise brighter or darker.

Noise Threshold - The Noise values range from 0.0 to 1.0; the threshold values will modify the resulting noise based on the following parameters:

Low Threshold - If the noise value is smaller than Low threshold it will be set to 0.0.

High threshold - If the noise value is bigger than High threshold it will be set to 1.0.

Gain - Works like contrast.

Bias - Works like brightness.

Maps

Swap - Switches the position of the two colors or maps.

Color # 1 and Color # 2 - Color values are generated from the two colors you select in the Color Selector box.
